What pressure and temperature base is the Gas Purchaser Sales measure in Analytics?
In Joyn OG, we now have a functionality to allocate Purchaser Sales as if it were any other configured disposition.
There are two ways of the PAs can choose to setup and run allocations for purchaser Sales disposition.
Upload Gas purchaser statements. Reconcile them with the field measured sales volumes at the standardized pressure/temperature base, which can be configured independently for each account. ( by default this is 14.696/ 60 degF). Use the reconciled gas volumes, measured at the standard pressure/temperature base and allocate the volumes back to the wells.
In this case, the Purchaser Sales volumes allocated to the wells will be that of the Account Standard Pressure/Temperature base.
Upload Gas purchaser statements as purchaser-sales readings. Allocate purchaser sales directly from the readings.
In this case, the pressure base of the allocated purchaser sales disposition in analytics ,would be the same as that of the purchaser sales readings uploaded.
Recommendation:
Ensure the pressure base for the account remains the same, which would ensure the purchaser sales disposition volumes across wells from different routes are all being allocated and reported at the same pressure base.
Field pressure/temperature standardizing
Corrected volume P1, T1 is defined in the readings formula. Defaults of 14.696/60degF are used.
Pressure rebasing is used during reconciliation. The standard P,T at which reconciliation is done is set to 14.696 and 60 degF.
Assuming that the field recorded data std.vol has been pressure based to 14.696/ 60degF, the purchaser statement data (volume, P, T) is transformed to volume at 14.696/ 60degF.
Comparison between standardized volume from reading and standardized volume after converting sales statement volumes
Reconciled volume is at the standardized pressure and temperature ( 14.696/ 60degF).
Purchaser Sales is Reconciled volume = Adjusted volume = Joyn.std volume ( P1, T1) -adjustment volume ( a constant)
Adjusted and Adjustment volume and Purchaser Sales is assumed to be at Joyn.std P,T ( 14.696, 60 degF) by default.
Difference = Adjusted volume- std.purchaser statement.( 14.696, 60 degF)
This difference minimizing is the expectation from the reconciliation process. Since you have changed 1(a) to a different pressure. P1 =14.73, the adjusted volume = purchaser Sales and adjustment volume will be at P1 =14.73 and T= 60degF. However, the reconciliation process is flawed since difference is now being calculated between Adjusted volume at 14.73 and std.purchaser volume at 14.696.
To fix this, change the reconciliation pressure to 14.73.
