How do I set up net volume allocations?
Net Sales disposition is allocated by using two sets of information, for both inventory and non-inventory products ( Gas as well as Oil and Water)
The proportion in which Sales volumes from Sales volume sources are allocated to the wells. The Allocation Engine uses the Inventory Ledger data, so ledger data should be up-to-date before allocating Net Sales Disposition.
The Net volumes on the same volume sources which need to be allocated to the wells.
Net Sales Allocations should only be setup if Sales Disposition is already being Allocated for the Network, as inventory ledgers are not created unless Sales disposition is being allocated.
Configure Net Sales allocations:
To determine the sources of disposition volume source, Net Sales has to be setup similar to how Set up would be done for Sales Disposition.
Net Sales is not an implicit disposition like Beginning Inventory and Ending Inventory. You have to configure this in the allocation config and assign the volumes sources correctly for this allocation to work.
Configure Net Sales disposition in Allocation config.
Since Net Sales allocations uses some implicit logic, It is important to choose the exact same disposition name.
Configure the volume and ratio sources in the allocation config, similar to how you have configured Sales disposition.
Choose the Net Volumes “attribute” on the Sales readings, while configuring Volume Source
Assign the allocation config to the network, making sure to select the Net Sales volume sources just as you do with Gross Sales.
Ensure, you select all the objects. which you have selected for Sales Disposition, as volume source for Net Sales.
Allocate Net Sales volumes
Run allocate Net Sales from the canvas, or use an adhoc daily or monthly schedule to trigger Net Sales and other dispositions.
For Inventory Products such as Oil and Water
The ledgers are checked if they are upto-date to allocate Net Sales.
If Not, they are updated before allocating Net Sales.
Ledgers are always updated for the selected date ranges when user runs Adhoc daily or Monthly Allocations for a Product. which would include allocating Net Sales disposition, if configured.
For Non Inventory Products such as Gas
Net Sales is allocated as if it were any other configured disposition
